Culmination 2002

In the first series of images Adam was in a temple-complex in what appeared to be the heavenly abodes or some astral dimension. He was guided and followed by someone, walking through huge oratories, one after the other. They all had beautiful marble-floors, shining white, with the same inlaid pattern, only this ornament varied in colour from hall to hall. The decoration formed different paths and parts in the floors and they walked along these lines, deeper and deeper into the complex. Adam only remembers three of the halls, but there were several others. In the first hall the pattern was red, in the next a delicate yellow, and in the last a light mauve or violet. At the back of this hall on a crescent-shaped part of the floor Adam saw meditating male figures, completely undisturbed. He and his escort passed them, keeping distance, and followed a line leading them into an adjoining room. Here they met people in busy activity, coming in and out. The energy of the place was sparkling, fresh and full of vital force. This was shown to Adam as exuberant vegetables in storage everywhere. In the middle of the room there was a quiet area where the energy was intensely vibrating. It was some kind of prana or cosmic life-energy, pulsating in the form of a sphere. Adam was told without words that you were allowed to get closer to this energy only if you could see or sense it. As the energy was already pouring through his “body” and dancing in front of his eyes, Adam stepped forward and a part of him, his etheric double, lay down on a sort of couch and was permeated by the energy. Next Adam was shown a big group of people in a field. They were all dressed in the same robes of pale brown velvet cloth. Their faces looked distinctly Western. They cultivated the field and worked collectively in a dedicated and highly committed manner. They were like bees in a hive, hard working and faithful. Adam realized that they had surrendered themselves to the group-context and to the energy-structures of the temple-complex. They all smiled happily and peacefully, and what they produced had the same vibrant vitality as in the room of the heavenly abode. Adam was shown a loaf of oat bread. It looked wholesome and nourishing. Then he woke up buzzing with energy in and around his body. He was a little baffled as always when confronted with images of structures and realities he had no feeling-connection with and did not relate to in terms of value and faith.

 

With open questions like this Adam fell asleep again and was shown two more narratives. The first told the story of a dynastic family business. Five brothers each had their own exclusive shop with men’s wear on the main street. The town had a seaport and was situated in Sweden, but no ferry arrived there. The brothers founded a bank and invested money in solid assets with accumulating interest. The second narrative was telling the story of a Swedish woman, living in the neighbouring country of Denmark. She was an artist and had an exhibition of her paintings on a little ferry. The ferry sailed along the shore of a Danish island on the northern coast. The exhibited paintings showed the life of Jesus and presented a sincere and mystical understanding of the Christ, which was at the same time deeply connected with nature. All the paintings had a strange textural effect and when contemplating the motifs, you were transported to the elfish world of the forest floor. End of dreams.

 

Now the two series of dreams stand in a certain relation to each other. The first has an Eastern religious atmosphere and is subtle, internal and upward, while the second has a Western religious atmosphere and is realistic, external and outward. In the first dream we notice the practice of meditation combined with the symbol of the crescent and the succeeding colours in the floor, representing the different frequencies of the chakra-system. There is an accumulation and a build-up of etheric energy or prana taking place, supplied by the activity of the group of real people in the field. They grow corn and vegetables on the land, natural and valuable female symbols, connected with the sun’s life‑giving force. They themselves eat relatively little, and the surplus energy is diverted upwards into the meditative structure where the male gender is all predominant. Here we also have some sort of controlling individuality, while at the level of the people there is only group-identity [signified in the identical clothes] and gender-balance in neutrality. This is strange, because those people are Westerners and they should value personal individuality and know the importance of couplehood. Evidently they have surrendered that possibility in order to belong to this Luciferic structure, depicted in the crescent and the movement and transport of energy away from earthly living. What is pictured here is in particular the situation, when people in the West join an Eastern guru-tradition. They give up their most precious quality of I-ness and readily submit etheric energy in qualitative and quantitative measures to the guru-organization both in its physical and non-physical aspects, the latter often highly Luciferic in nature. Bread is of course a sacred symbol of fellowship and spiritual transubstantiation. Here the group shows a loaf of bread that is not shared or divided. Christ is not there to share communion with them, since they are living in a beehive and have lost their personal centre. The organizing principle of the group is clearly Luciferic enthusiasm and not Christian brotherhood.


No doubt these images also reflect and comment in the broadest sense on the parasitic relation between incarnated soul and arising doubleganger and our composite nature based on etheric élan vital and electromagnetic energy in their mutual dance of death and life. Steiner once said that modern man does not consciously accept and assimilate with gratitude the real spiritual nourishment he is offered by the cosmic source, the sun, and by the earth, that upholds his life. When eating, he therefore unconsciously digests this subtle precious energy and offers it to Lucifer instead of producing within his existence the blossom of an awakened I. This is also the situation in the dream. From all that fruitfulness and productivity only one loaf of bread in the name of Luciferic spirituality, and the rest goes to Lucifer himself at the end of the food-chain, assisted by some guru-magician and a lot a serving disciples! The one bread is still conceived in a materialistic way as food with all its etheric-spiritual potentiality extracted elsewhere. The central point is here that man on a very large scale is eaten by Lucifer, or as the Russian teacher Gurdjieff described the state of things – men serve as fodder for the Moon, but are completely unaware of the fact that their most valuable energy, the vitality that is to be spiritualized through the I, is stolen away from them by unseen powers. The special case of this situation is the feeding engine of the guru from the Luciferic Eastern tradition, being only the chef de cuisine, while Lucifer is the owner of the restaurant! And in this context it is worth noticing that the practice of meditation on chakras and upward movement of energy in the spine – the consecutive halls in the dream representing the spinal column – accelerates this fatal transportation by way of the doubleganger. When things are in balance, life and earth are imbued and impregnated from heaven, but when this spiritualization is not conceived and delivered by man in earthly existence, the evil powers feed on the stillborn life. The depravation of natural femininity in the misuse of etheric and sexual energy for masculine uplifting, raising and self-exaltation shows the opposite order of “negative kundalini”, with the feminine quality of “holding” – exemplified for instance by the blessed Virgin Mary – here mannishly perverted in a “holding back” and an accumulation of energy, which is not a giving of life!

 

On close examination then, there seems to be imbalance associated with these dream-images in almost every aspect. Why are the riches and fruits of the earth gathered in heaven when they naturally belong to man and earth? Why the structure of a sort of Elysium or heavenly palace if it is not a false projection of human aspiration on divine reality? Anyway, this fundamental imbalance was now gradually understood by Adam from an individual and spiritual point of view and on a concrete experiential background, as will appear from the biographical notes, and so his etheric double was revitalized and its energy returned or redirected. In reality this charge and change of energy-circulation made possible and necessitated in Adam an extensive and direct confrontation with the structure of his own doubleganger.

 

What then about the second series of dreams representing the original Western cultural approach? First of all there seems to be much less Luciferic splendour and energy present in them. On the personal level this disproportion of energy is a wake-up call. Clearly some motives are dissociated, some energies diverted and some principles turned upside down in Adam, if we compare the two series. Actually the second scenery is a travesty of the first caricature, because when you invert and pervert the relation between man on earth and God in heaven, life will surely fall apart. The vertical disequilibrium necessarily shows up in a horizontal gulf. Clearly there is no connection or balance between the two sexes –  the five brothers and the one woman, all native Swedes and originally belonging together, but separated in the neighbouring countries – signalling a deep split in the natural, etheric polarity and in the pattern of sexual roles, which is paralleled in the first series by the rectified vertical dimension with its one-way and male-only transportation from earth to heaven and in the desexualization of the group of people. The ferry does not cross the water or arrive at the other harbour and so there is no real contact. It is apparent then that the structuring of sexuality plays a decisive role in the overall unbalance and fragmentation. This is an internal and external, an individual and collective state of affairs. Westerners are primarily oriented outward toward aggressive material action and accumulation like the five brothers and do not preserve or refine natural and subtle energies through a feminine attitude and disciplined inner work as in the East. Men are not integrating their female psychological aspects and women are possessed by inner or outer manliness. This approach is not a true realization of individuality either, since it is heavily one-sided. Instead Westerners are celebrating the empty individualism of persona-fixation shown in all the different clothes in five similar shops making no essential difference whatsoever. This picture displays the Ahrimanic condition of Western society with division, materialism and nationalism. We have completely forgotten spirituality in the pursuit of wealth, luxury and status. Only in the figure of the female artist do we find a relative point of balance and a true spiritual impulse. Here there is awareness of Christ, connectedness with nature, real individuality, sensuality, creativity and higher feelings. The Luciferic element is present in the elfish quality, but counterbalanced by the natural earth-element. No doubt she is exiled in the present culture and only receives occasional attention from the public, although she exhibits social orientation and responsibility in her activities. But she represents the real future we have, integrating Christ and balancing Lucifer and Ahriman, getting closer to the feminine and creative quality, to nature and to values of the soul, though it is obvious from the general context of the dreams that there is an urgent need for a total reorientation and reorganization of culture and society. This was also true for Adam on a personal level. The two predominantly individual characters, the female artist and the wandering I, had to join and regain control in him, balancing the inner and outer dimensions, and restoring the spiritual integrity based on a totally renewed insight, which is presented throughout this book. Higher energies and patterns of form are of course always channelled from heaven to earth, while prayer and adoration are offered from earth to heaven. Life is a spending in gratitude for what is freely given. Sex is between man and woman in love on earth. And individuality is sacred. We must never forget that!

 

Adam had this vision some years after the beginning of the burning-process in the aura, which heralded an intensified confrontation with astral content and a clarification of many of his beliefs and ideas. The vision marked a turning-point and a hectic prelude to the resolving experience, the paranormal epiphany, which we will mention later in greater detail. At the same time Adam experienced other direct astral encounters with beings of a more positive nature, who prepared an intervention in his life and a complete turn-over of his perspective. Only a few months earlier, for instance, there was another powerful experience, where Adam witnessed a shift in the cosmic intake of directive energy in his aura and during which he had a view from outer space and a contact with a guiding spirit, signalling the redistribution of energy. The total change of his life was illustrated in the vision of an enormous landslide opening up a fissure from across the earth to where he was standing and dissolving everything on one side of him. Adam was then shown the conditions of his incarnation up till that point, in which he had confronted a lesser Luciferic demon, and he was given the specific means to deal with the next challenge. This turned out to be an absolutely gigantic and demonic entity, which can best be described as an expanding darkness and nothingness, disintegrating everything in its way. At that time Adam designated it the “Stone Eater”. Surely it was an image of the impending Ahrimanic-Sorathic evil closing in on humanity.

 

Adam has since then encountered this stern reality in other lucid dream-experiences, and from all this material we are certain, that there is a continuous process going on in the collective energy-dimension [the sea in the next dream] transforming ego-instinctual, sexual and emotional energy into vehicles for Lucifer and Ahriman as discussed above. This is not to be understood in an abstract and general meaning. True enough the process is subtle and therefore unnoticed by most people, but it is absolutely real, material, existential and individual – taking place in each and everyone right now! We shall only briefly mention a couple of the visions here in order to give the reader some idea of the spontaneous astral representations of this impending process. In both cases we will estimate, that there was an objective entity much like a demon behind the apparitions, and as such they showed their own peculiar reality of energy, manifesting directly in the experience. In one vision Adam saw a kind of cruiser-missile catching up with a passenger-ship, which was probably a large group-structure mirrored in the astral dimension, perhaps a religious sect or some other social cluster. The missile, an Ahrimanic entity, reverberated with the most thrilling, mechanical sound ... tick, tick, tick, tick ... and slowed elegantly in on its prize. Then it landed on the water, circled the ship once and transmuted into a human-like figure. It knew very well that Adam watched its operation and his presence was only barely tolerated by this superior force which commanded the most ingenious manipulative know-how you can possibly imagine. With a short glance of contemptuous recognition of his attendance and a due evil warning not to interfere with its “legitimate” business, the entity boarded the ship and started its work on the people there. In yet another vision Adam saw a field of beautiful golden grass. Out of nowhere there suddenly arrived a screamingly yellow reaping machine with a huge plate-cutter. In no time the grass was cut down and the controlling entity jumped down from the machine and hastily picked up the few remaining straws. By then the entity had transformed itself into a sort of grass-being, a cyborgish figure with an electromagnetic radiation, and turned towards Adam with a most provocative and gloating attitude. This perhaps illustrates how the unrefined and agitated solar plexus of the mass-media-consuming Westerner, shown here in the yellow colour of the machine, is being used to harvest the subtle pranic spirituality of the golden grass and thereby shape and feed something like an Ahrimanic demon or an operational doubleganger on a larger scale. In both visions we should notice the cold intelligence and ruthless intent, the cocksure and scornful attitude, the insensitive and mechanical approach, the scary transformative power and purpose, and the electromagnetic nature of the bizarre phenomenon. Although the perspicacious imagination of science fiction and the terrifying experiences of alien encounter have anticipated these ghastly appearances, they were nonetheless very real indeed, and we take them as sure evidence of Ahriman’s approach.
